Tax Credit extended to water-to-water, air-to-air
More Century equipment than ever before qualifies for the Federal tax credit program.
The recently introduced single-stage packaged HPV series and the water-to-water HWW series now qualify for the tax credit. For the HWW to qualify it must be manufactured on or after Dec. 1, 2009. Unlike other qualified equipment, AHRI reference numbers are not required for water-to-water equipment.
To find out more on the HPV and HWW, follow the link to the residential section of the website and click on Geothermal/Water Source.
The tax credit on geothermal systems is 30% of the installation cost with no cap.
Also recently added to the list of qualified products is Century’s RSG1418 and RSG1424 condensing units (when properly matched with an air handler). CLICK HERE to find out more on qualified equipment.
The tax credit on high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment covers 30% of the installation cost up to $1,500.
New single stage R-410A geothermal system
Century has introduced a new Energy Star-rated single stage packaged geothermal heat pump. The HP series, charged with the environmentally-friendly R-410A, is available in 1-1/2 to 5 tons models. The series features microprocessor controls, scroll compressor for more efficient operation, large filter for improved IAQ, and system performance monitoring.
Century’s exclusive double isolation compressor mounting system makes the HP Series among the quietest units on the market. Compressors are mounted via vibration isolators to a heavy gauge mounting plate, which is further isolated from the cabinet base with rubber grommets for maximized vibration/sound attenuation.
Versatile line of PTACs unveiled
A new line of R-410A packaged terminal air conditioners and heat pumps, EKTC and EKTH, has been introduced, featuring an electric heater option that enhances the line’s versatility.
Based on the power cord selected each unit can be set up for 2kW, 3kW or 5kW of heat. Power cords come in 15, 20 or 30 amps.
Each unit can be optimized to a specific application through the use of dipswitches and the digital keypad, which adds to the line’s versatility. Selections include setpoint limiting, front desk control and wall thermostat control.
A low voltage interface comes standard allowing a group of units to be centrally controlled (from a front desk, for example). Owner-programmed setback during periods of inactivity and in-room temperature limitations maximizes efficiency. An on-board computer utilizes real-time diagnostics to prolong the life
Geothermal training schedule
Increasing interest in geothermal and water source systems is reflected in the increased demand for training. Heat Controller has been doing its part to meet that increased demand with its two-day geothermal/water source training course, which is certified for continuing education credits through NATE.
Classes for 2010 are limited and filling up, so distributors, contractors and any other interested party must act fast to take part in the course.
CLASS SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
• September 15-16
• November 10-11
Each session is hosted at HCI’s headquarters in Jackson, MI, and a $300 registration fee is due in advance (50% of the cost can be charged to co-op). Classes fill up quickly, so registration forms should be submitted as soon as possible (space is limited to 16-20 students per session).
